GK - Cris (Capt) RB - Alison F CB - Sonia CB - Alison McG LB - Kath RCM - Chloe CM - Jess LCM - Leanne CF – Lena Rovers were always going to have a hard task on their hands playing one of the better teams in the league with a squad of nine players. Graham made it clear at the start that the scoreline did not matter and for the team to go out and try to give a good account of themselves in difficult circumstances. Centre-half Cris volunteered to go in goal and had plenty to do over the ninety minutes but did it well and topped off a decent display with penalty save in the latter stages (only for it to be taken (and scored) again due to encroachment). The greens managed to keep the scoreline down for a while but this task with two players fewer than the opposition would ultimately prove too much for them. There was no let up from Middleton who, with only one team being promoted, were out to score as many goals as they could to increase their goal difference. Rovers will be looking to get back on track with a larger squad and a winnable next game at home against Heyside Angels. Follow Rovers on Twitter at twitter.com/#!/manroverswfc

Managers Point Of View
Very brave performance from the 9 Rovers Players. At 10 nil down at half time the players could have been forgiven for not coming out for the second half. But too there credit thay did and held Middleton to 4 goals in the second half. This was an impossible task its not just 11 vs 9 Middleton have a big squad and were able to make subs to keep legs fresh tru out the game. But the Rovers players showed heart and found energy when lesser players would have thrown the white towel in. I have said it before teams learn nothing from double figure drubbings and this was no different. I all ready knew this set of Rovers players have heart and will still play great football under impossible pressure before this game.
Next up is Heyside need to get up to11 players first of all and then change mind set from recent weeks. Its a must win game if we are to hit our targets for tis season.
Manages Player Of The Match
All 9 players were brilliant. Oppositon gave it to Cris our stand in goal keeper who was excellent. I have gone for Jess whos first tackle in te second half let the whole Middleton team know that they were not going to have it all there own way second half.
Cheers girls g
