Rovers were unlucky to lose today. They fought back from 1-0 and 2-1 down to lead 3-2. The first goal was the result of a swift counter attack. A great 50-50 challenge from Nathan in the middle of the park allowed Harris to play in Mo who pulled us level. The second was a cross from the right that found Mo on the edge of the box. There was great control, strength, and an excellent swivel and shot and Mo had pulled us level again. Next came a Masterman special. Mike flicked the ball on… for himself, he then finished by a side-footed lob with the keeper left stranded. The Beckham effort at 1min40sec was the best I could find
www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFYhd2FOa2U&feature=related. Needless to say the opposition got two more goals. However the statistic that sticks out was the lack of cards of both colours for the opposition for the umpteenth time in the last two seasons. Rovers were subject to a constant barrage of aggressive tackle and swipes after the ball had gone; all of which we know to expect from this opposition. However when the ball has gone and in front of the referee the opposition player kicks one of us we expect some action. There was none, no red card and just a quick talking to. At this point, control of the game was lost and the opposition knew they could get away with anything.
Goals: Mo 2, Masterman 1
Seasons Goals: Bills 2, Tad 2, Brandon 2, Mo 2, Ross 1, Damo 1, Harris 1, Masterman 1
