The form looks to be coming back. Yet another impressive performance holding league leaders Davyhulme to 0-0 for 60 minutes. At this point I'm going to set the team a challenge. In my opinion, the performances the team has produced, We can easily pick up another 6-9 points before the end of the season. This should take us above Galaxy and Showmans Res, and possibly above St. Luke's Res. If the team achieves this then it's drinks all round!!!
Come On Rovers!!!!

Time for a FLB Fact - we have played 15 games won 3 drawn 1 and lost 11 Link - we have played 4-4-2 for a majority of the season and we have got 10 points, and scored 26 measly goals When we played showmans in a 3-4-3 formation, not only did we score goals we created chances and should have had all three points. Benefit - This will be the formation for the remainder of the season and we will all work as a team rather than Individuals trying to outshine each other, and when we have the ball taking people on and then going back to take them on again then lose the ball!!! we have to grab the bull by the horns and go and win at least 5 of our remaining games. feel free to chat to me and give me some ideas Cheers J

There is a saying - DEFENCE is the best ATTACK
One remaining FACT -
The 3 games have been won playing 4-4-2 and lost every time you've played 3-4-3
Also, it depends on what personnel turns up. A full team gives great performances. It's nothing to do with your 3-4-3 formation.

If it was a vote I'd vote for 4-4-2.
We work better as a team when we play it and at the very least people know where they should be and who to mark.

yeah i agree with dave. i no i've not been wiv rovers from the start of the season so obviously i cant really comment on the previous games and formations, but whilst i've been here i've seen the second team play some really good football and last sunday was a great example. this is just my opinion but i feel that we all need to work on keeping our heads up when we go behind because even at 0-2 on sunday we was still in the game! hey and i no this might sound gay but there should also be less criticism and more encouragement goin on on the pitch. if we continue to play like we did on sunday we should easily pick up them 6-9 points. and a free drink off dave!

last game esp the 1st half we was playin some really good football. i agree we should keep the 4 4 2 we are playin well we just need too start takin our chances. if we took our chances we could of have at least 5 goals on sunday. the main thing were lacking in the rovers reserves team is talking. we need to open our mouths stick with our men and get that challenge in. lets start gettin stuck into teams close them every where instead of backing off them and letting them play football. less of the banter ladies and lets concentrate on gettin some points from the rest of the season. lets have it this sunday!

as mentioned earlier some of our players love to take people on and then try to go back and do it again then lose the ball and then get shouted at from others for not passing 1st time and with the 3-4-3 formation against showmans we got goals and we played well, its just some people dont like changes and just refuse to believe that anything other than 4-4-2 wont work, unless we were chelsea of man united......... and with anyluck if we have the people on sunday we will go out an win, there will be a few changes........

I think it just depends on who you get turning up for the games, i obviously cant say much cos ive only been involved in a few games so far but we must have had about 10 corners on Sunday, i think if we worked on those a bit more, and use mikes long throws better, and put away the chances we created we could beat anyone in the league. I think everyone just needs to maybe believe they can win a bit more. Other than that man for man they didnt have a player that was any better than us on sunday, just more belief they were going to eventually break through, even though they didnt have a shot in the first half!

if our defenders attack more than our attackers do, then why take away a defender and throw another striker up front? doesnt make sense. especially when we've conceded a lot more than we've scored. dont think i'm tryin to be funny here, i'm just concerned. but i u think its worth trying a 3-4-3 again, then the team will have to listen to the manager and adapt.

didn't we win 2 of the 3 by having our own ref?
maybe we work on that a bit more...

i hear that jeff!!
think a problem is that we have good players who play well at training and we all know are good, but when everyone turns up and theres a chance of putting out a good team, some of the better players are left on the bench, often until the last sub also players are becoming disenfranchised by being subbed - who`s gonna turn upevery week, play well and then still get subbed? it ain`t about tactics at this level - even if we have 3 up front it always goes back to 4-4-2 cos thats what everyone is used to - we`ve all grown up with it , and so are too used to it unless we train with it for a few sessions the issue has always been a lack of goals for us, need a nippy striker who can get us a few on the break cos it takes us about 5 chances + to score, n other teams don`t take as many (if they do then we usually beat them!)

good to see mick and jeff keeping in touch with grass roots football. my thoughts on this, for what it's worth are:
at our level formation's not key. are we gonna start changing depending on how the opposition turn out???
people seem to get more involved in training than the actual games - do you really care if some innit kid whinges about you kicking them?
we talk before and after games but have trouble doing it on the pitch.
we don't play as a team, simple as. 3-4-3 or 4-4-2 won't change that.
seems a general acceptance that we won't win games - in which case we never will.
quick to point the fingers at others and not look at ourselves (by the way I include myself in everything above)
Losing's sh!t - anyone else feel humiliated by where we are? That should be motivation enough.
