Rovers Changed tactics for this match and the girls got to grips with it straight away. Playing against the team that is currently top of the table. It was a very even first half with both sides only having half chances. 0 - 0 at half time.
The second half saw Meadowside take control and go into a 3 Nil lead. But Rovers never threw in the towel as this Rovers squad has shown time and time again they never give up and believe in there own ability. There is a real team spirit in the squad and at 3 nil down Rovers got on with trying to get something out of the game.
The greens got a grip of the match and started to pin Meadowside back. After a number of chances Belinda found the break tru and scored a good finish to make it 1-3.
Rovers were now knocking on the door of the Meadowside goal and got themselves a well deserved second goal when Jess found the net 2-3. Jess who had come on as a sub had a real impact on the game and looks like a great addition to the Rovers squad.
It looks like all the new players have added quality to the squad which is great to see. Rovers had chances to complete there impressive come back and if this game had another 5 Min's in it i am more then sure we would have grabbed a point maybe even all 3 .

Hoping Izzy will complete this part.
Managers Player
Izzy
Strong full back display and got forward when possible.
Managers point of view.
Very unlucky girls. But yet again I am very proud of the way the girls played.
Against top of the league many teams would have gave up at 3 nil down and Meadowside would have had it easy. But instead the players stuck to the task and over the 90 Min's I would say were the better side. Shame not to get any points but some big positives from the match.
Another hard task his week up at Oldham where the pitch is on a slant and the wind always seems to be at gale force plus there doing well in the league. So lets take this display against Meadowside and continue it next week.
Well done girls g.
