Rovers started the brighter of the 2 teams and there pressure was rewarded when Dennis put a cross in looking for Dave Harris. How ever it was the oppositions full back who go there first and headed past his own keeper. 15 Min's in and the MUSC left back swung an elbow at Tad.
This saw MUSC reduced to 10 min when the ref produced a straight red card. With Rovers now passing the ball around chances came and went with Damo Dennis and Liam all going close. But MUSC drew level when a long range free kick with straight in the rovers net wind assisted.
Again it was Rovers who were playing the better football. But MUSC kick and rush football was causing Rovers problems .
Damo made it 2 one rovers when he turned and volleyed home . A superb goal. How ever MUSC drew level when a mix up at the back let them make it 2 each just before half time.
Second half saw rovers come out of the blocks quicker. And produced probably the goal of the season. Liam found Stu Mason on the right and his tru ball sent Tad away down the right . Tad beat the full back and his pin point cross was headed home by Dennis. Great team goal. Tad nearly put the game beyond the opposition but his one on one effort was saved by the keeper.
How ever another mix up at the back saw MUSC Level yet again.
Then MUSC were reduced to 9 men. When there left winger decided to racially abuse a Rovers player. This team have a habit of this and it was good to see the ref take action and produce a straight Red card.
How ever Rovers found themselves reduced to 10 men about 2 Min's after this when Liam picked up a second card for kicking the ball away.
It was the 9 men of the opposition that made it 4 three to them.
This saw Rovers throw men forward with a win the only result that Rovers needed. This pressure told when a perfect tru ball from Ross found Mo who was hacked down in the box. Bills stepped up and too his credit having just come on kept his nerve to pull Rovers level.
Rovers were now throwing everything at the opposition and Bills shot just wide with the keeper beaten. In injury time from the side lines you felt there was 1 more chance in the game for some one to win it. And unluckily for Rovers it fell to MUSC who won the game in the dieing seconds. Unlucky Rovers.
Ref watch 10 out of 10
Got most decisions right and took control of the game. If we had him last week or in the first game different result I'm sure.
On our sending off if your on a yellow its your job not to bring attention to yourself as your walking a tight rope so no complaints .
Players Player
Tad
Superb all ways an attacking threat . But all so helped out in defense. Great signing for Rovers and hopefully more to come.
Managers Player
Dual award.
Tad
Same as above.
and Damo
Set the standard yesterday won every ball and never missed a tackle. Winning the middle of the park battle.
Managers Point Of View.
Very proud of all the players yesterday every player gave there all and behaved brilliantly. Unlucky lads.
With last weeks defeat been the first league defeat for Manchester Rovers since Nov 09 it says a lot for how well this team has performed for so long now.
This team still has an unbeaten home record in the league going back to April 09. Incredible achievement for any team well done lads. With 2 home games left and a chance to win promotion tru finishing runners up . There is a lot to play for and a chance to extend that unbeaten run to over 2 years.
Respect
No complaints about yesterdays result we lost the game fair and square. Just wanted to add a bit on.
Having played the above team twice this year. And seeing 4 of there players sent off 2 for violent conduct and 1 for a racist comment. It would be nice to see the league and FA back up there respect campaign and back up there refs. The Refs have done the face to face bit but will be failed by the league and FA who will fail to back them up with anything more then you would get for handling the ball on the line. Nice to see the league put respect campaigns on there web site would be better to follow it tru though.
This is just my thoughts and not that of the club I might add before its the club who gets i in the neck.
Cheers lads
Lets bounce back in th cup next week.
