Right lads I think the last few weeks and today have really showed up the fact that not a lot of you turn up to training.
Thursday we had 10 this included 1 new player and a player who only trains and not play. So thats 8 players from 2 squads.
Take today as an example we were caught out 3 times by the same ball if everyone turned up to training we could address this matter quite easily and make sure it does NT happen again. Instead myself and Stuart the sat manager are left wandering who will turn up to training and what can we work on if the players we are using in matches don't turn up. To progress on from here we need both teams to be at training. If not from a coaches points of view we are going to struggle to push on and grow as a team.
I feel that this request will fall on deaf ears though. Both myself and Stuart want the best for the club but our hands are tied because of the turn outs at training and its no good turning up for one week after reading this and then saying well we only played a game so why should I turn up again. If we know players are going to turn up every week we will make training plans but be fair to us and give us time to put this in place.
Next point lateness to matches . I think I made myself clear on this last week. Its unfair to turn up late on your team mates no matter who you are changed or not. If you have a genuine reason thats fine and when some one asks me why is that person late I can explain if there is a genuine reason but for most of us there is no reason.
Lads why should you expect your team mates to turn up before you and put up the nets do a proper warm up while you sit at home and arrive just before kick off and expect to walk straight into the team.
We as managers want to pick the best team available each week but why should we carry on picking players who turn up constantly late.
I'm hoping you the players will pay attention to this message and make more of an effort for the sake of the club .
Cheers lads g.
