Rovers Saturday team is to continue next season.
It is now confirmed that Rovers will continue to play Saturday football next season in the Lancashire and Cheshire League.
We have been relegated and as we discussed last night next season is a rebuilding exercise with a much younger looking squad. This team will be given time to build and we are still looking for players for the squad.
If you are interested or no someone who is please get in touch.
Both Saturday mens and Sunday mens teams have been entered into next seasons county cups .
All so as discussed last night we are putting a team in this years Umbro Cup in Keele. This takes place in August and to give our selfs a chance of competing we are only having a 15 man squad this year.
Its first come first served so respond to your texts quickly if you want to be part of this 2 day event. Its £10 a player to enter and money must be paid immediately. Please note its £150 to enter a team so Rovers makes no money off this.
Training on Thursdays is for both teams. Starts at 7.30 with light training and a game at 8 pm subs are £2.
Mike Masterman is taking the more intense training which both squads are invited to on Sundays starting from a week on Sunday. More details to follow.
The mens team are all so trying out a new service called teamer.
We are testing it before the season begins and its success or failure depends on how you the players find it .
Give it a go it allows you to see who is coming to training and games and what upcoming events are ahead.
Its all new to me as well but with Dave being the Rovers Thecno guy hopefully he might say a few things about it.
Rovers Ladies
The Divisions for next season are set and you can check them out on the Full time website.
We are all so entered into the Manchester County Cup for next season. Its the first time the FA have opened up a county cup competition for the Ladies team. So its quite a privilege t enter it in its first season. There is some very god teams in this and will give us a chance to play against teams from other leagues and different levels.
We are now officially excepted for this years Umbro cup on July 24th and 25th . Same as mens competition this is in Keele and over 2 days.
11 th of July is the Moss Farm 7s. We were the 31st team to apply but they normally only accept 30 teams . We are on a waiting list for a team to drop out or with more teams trying to enter there is talk of adding to the 30 teams . Quietly confident that Rovers will get excepted so make sure your ready for it. Either way we will know by Tuesday 5 pm latest.
Thats it i think.
Cheers g
