CHRISTIES FUNDRAISER FOR PROSTATE CANCER
I have a close friend who was diagnosed with prostate cancer 6 years ago and, unfortunately, the disease has now progressed. It has spread through him via his bones and his prognosis is very poor. Despite being given only months to live he has accepted his prognosis admirably, and feels that he would like to raise as much money as possible for The Christie and to raise awareness of prostate cancer. His main aim is to promote early screening procedures, particularly of the male population in Manchester, and he feels that if he’d had a better knowledge 6 years ago his future might be different today. At the age of 52, he is relatively young to have this disease, but unfortunately it does affect younger males.
We, a small group of his close friends and colleagues, would like to help him achieve his goal by hosting a fund raiser on Friday 4th June 2010 to raise money and awareness for this worthy cause.
The event is at St Kents social club in Fallowfield, 8pm till late.
On the night there will be DJ, Live band, race night, raffles and auction.
Tickets are £5 this includes entry to event and free entry to a raffle for a mountain bike.
You can get tickets off me tomorrow night friends and family welcome. Over 18s only.
If you can’t make this event I will all so have raffle tickets at a pound a strip so any donations would be very welcome.
I do know tomorrow night is about raising money for Manchester Rovers. But I wont see a lot of you again before this event.
This is a cause close to my heart and any donations no matter how small will mean a lot.
Cheers Rovers
