Once again against Partington, Rovers were a little nervous and never really got into any rythym. However on this occasion we had a decent ref who stood for no nonsense or horrible challanges.
The tackles were flying in from the start and rovers created a few chances but Partington took the lead from a sloppy set peice which left one of their men unmarked.
Rovers however picked up the pace and after some neat play on the edge of the box Hamed was brought down in the area. Unfortunately Michael Masterman could not convert the resulting penalty kick.
Rovers came into half time 0 - 1 down but there was plenty left in this match and Rovers became more confident in the 2nd half creating chances and drawing the Partington players to make rash challenges, resulting in two of their players getting sent off.
With the match going into the 8th minute of injury time it didn't look like Rovers would be coming away with anything until Dave Lavelle lifted a free kick into the Partington penalty box for Dave Walton to glance a header in at the far post.
Unfortunately this result means we can't win the league but I think there is still a possibility of promotion and some real character was shown in this match. Well done lads.
Players MOM was David Walton
