Late Fight Back Scares Mersey.
A poor start of the game cost Rovers in a match they looked dead and buried in, only to come back and nearly get something out of the game. 2-0 down at half time, Heaton Mersey doubled their lead after the break and Rovers looked dead and buried until a change in formation got Rovers on the front foot for the first time in the game, and on 70mins Dave Lavelle scored from a Graham Kenny corner the Heaton Mersey Keeper couldn't keep hold of. Paul Sanders then pulled another back at the near post from a Dave Lavelle throw-in and Graham Kenny completed the come-back in the last few seconds.
The Manager said: "That last 20mins was a great performance, but we need to be switched on from the 1st whistle. We have 6 games left this season, and I want to finish the season on a high. There is no reason why we can't with the players we have in the squad and I know we can compete with any team in this league when we put our best performances out."

Controversial - the third goal given to Graham Kenny? Do we have to wait until the dubious goal committee meet at the end of the month before it's added to his current tally?
Good fight back on Saturday but Dave's right - we need to be playing from the 1st whistle. Personally I didn't think we were worse than them and certainly didn't deserve to be 4-0 down. Switched on from the off next week.
