Honours Even at Govan
Having been beaten by Govan 6-3 two weeks earlier, Rovers knew that this was not going to be an easy match. With 9 out of the 11 starters having played in the thrilling 6-5 win the week before it seemed that some consistency was finally coming to the team. Rovers matched Govan in a tense first half with both sides having chances but failing to score. It was Rovers who broke the dead lock in the second half with Alex Pentecost scoring from Mark Curtis's quick free kick catching the Govan defence asleep. The Govan equaliser came on the break as Rovers were pushing for a second goal. They lost the ball on the left, the right winger got his cross in and the left winger scored on the far post. Both teams had chances to take all three points but it remained 1-1 at the final whistle.
The Manager said "This was a great result, especially after losing 6-3 to them two weeks ago. If we played like that every week we would be pushing for promotion this season. All I want this the level of football and committment we showed this week every week, and I believe if we do that we'll do well this season."
