Manchester rovers first Sunday league game ended in a draw. olmpico came out blazing from the start and took the lead on the break with a fine finish leaving the keeper with no chance. this was a wake up call for rovers who started to battle hard and string some passes together. Pete evision picked up rovers first yellow card for the season for a feisty challenge in midfield.rovers were creating half chances and showing glimpses of quality going forward every now and then. rovers had all so got a few corners in the first half and it was from a 44th minute corner that they got there equalizer from when Pete evison headed the ball into the roof of the net.olmpico going forward had been kept quite since there early goal the rovers back four were solid and as a result olimpico did NT really create a chance of note. how ever rovers gifted them the lead when a back pass to rovers keeper was nt cleared quickly enough and there striker was on hand to punish the mistake.rovers now had to go for it with time running out rovers went to a 3 4 3 and the chances followed Dave Harris hitting the inside of the cross bar with the keeper left standing and a corner narrowly going wide from a rovers players head . then in the 90 th minute rovers were awarded a penalty when rovers captain mike masterman was fouled in the box. there was a long wait before the penalty was taken so the pressure was high on Paul MC Neill's shoulders in what could be the last kick of the game bills made no mistake though and converted the pen in style . so the game finished 2 each

as was said before the game this is the rovers first team on a Sunday and we are there to win games no matter who is missing.
i was encouraged by our battling for ever thing attitude and the way the players never gave up and turned a loss into a draw at the death . how ever we are a much better team then yesterdays performance would suggest and have to be taking 3 points in games like this.
