Although the result was disappointing, the overall performance was an improvement on the previous week. The back 4 played OK but are still prone to losses of concentration & minor errors which lead to chances for the opposition, midfield was strong with Brian particularly strong in the tackle & Jon B making good use of the possession we had, the wide men got in some good runs & crosses particularly John Butler who scored a great goal Yousef & Brandon linked well & were constantly putting the opponents back 4 under pressure. All in all a good performance, we just need to cut out the mistakes (think the back 4 play too high a line considering their overall lack of pace)
I think if we can maintain the improvement we will soon start climbing the table

I agree with Lee, I thought we played really well at times and at other times just went to sleep.
We need to tighten up at the back and learn when to just put our foot through it. I know it's best to show composure and play our way out from the back but not when it's 2 (or 3!) on 1 and the ball's bouncing everywhere, just get it clear!
You don't expect to lose a game when you score 3 goals but then again, we aren't gonna get anything out of the game if we concede 6!!
Poor result but a decent performance, let's build on it!

I certainly agree with the above comments. I think compared to when we played them a few weeks ago we were 200% better. the turning point was definately there 3rd goal when the scores were 2-2. It was just one of those freak goals that often turn games. But at the moment its those incidents that are going against us... im sure if we keep that level of performance up we will start to get that little bit of luck, and start to see some positive results soon. I agree with john b, if you score three goals you expect to be there or therabouts in most games, especially this game where for the vast majority we played it in there half of the pitch. Our weakness is definatley the ball over the top!! so i think if we can find a way to improve on defending those long balls in games, we'll pick up points in the next few weeks.
Bring on Sunday!

Although the result was disapointing, this was the first game in a while, where we actually seemed up for it and was in with a chance. We attacked well and created good chances. This is something we have failed to do since the beginning of the season. Was good to have the pace of Brandon back in the team, pace is probably what we lack most as a team. But we did pass the ball better. The use of the wings made a big difference and allowed the centre mids to support the attackers instead of sitting in front of the defence. The amount of talking was also good this week. If we can improve on our overall concentration we should be picking up wins soon. Better performance boys! Lets now try to turn it into wins!!!!

I agree with all of the above! However I think it is wrong to blame the whole defence because the three who played in the full back positions through the game all did well. Three goals came from individual mistakes of which I had an absolute mare with two and am solely to blame. Possibly a curse on the captains arm band?... Another goal was a freak (their third) due to a lapse in concentration - seemingly to all those wearing green in the box at the time which did turn the game! That said, had we cut out those mistakes the game was won. Midfield and attack played really well, the best I think I've seen this season, but some of the defence didn't turn up on Sunday - and I put my self in that category. Come next game it will be back to good old safe defending with the ball getting thumped out for throw ins with no hesitation! The aim now needs to be a clean sheet and we will get it soon - or my names not the Colonel!

So this sundays performance was a hell of a lot better than in previous weeks. Everyone was given a job and they all did what they were asked of. Maybe a few lapses of concentration ( we all know who we are!!) I apologise about my Barthez style goalkeeping it was shocking but to be honest i was still a little rusty not playing in goal for a while, and for their third goal??? we all just ball watched and it was f**king abysmal Thats life and times like that will happen in football but we must pick ourselves up and get on with the task in hand. Again we had a big turnout on sunday, as i mentioned those who didnt start/play will get your chance and when this comes you must show that you are not worth keeping on the sidelines and you want to play in every game. same goes for those who start as well give 100% and you will be keeping your place. Hopefully this sunday we will get our chance to make things write again and start winning and scoring goals and not making silly mistake just get that ball away from our goal. Come on lads we can do this!!! Do we actually have a game this sunday?? if not i have to go to f**king Ikea to get a new bed!!!!!!

I played for Galaxy on Sunday (no5 i think at the back) and just wanted to give you my honest opinion... Yes you did work us hard in the 1st half - it was a pretty even game - and your 2 forwards were quite a handfull. In the second half however after we got the third (tut tut Jamie for watching it all the way) it was a different game - you were not as strong or quick... and like us at the back - don't muck about just get rid asap!!
Hope you don't mind my comments guys.... Good look for the rest of the season - I hope you get a change in results soon. We usually have a good, close game against you as history shows .... !!
Chris.
